Constantine II, as Caesar, 316-337. Follis (Bronze, 17 mm, 1.85 g, 6 h), a contemporary imitation of an issue from Arelate. Irregular mint, after 327. CONSTANTINVS IVN NO C Laureate head of Constantine II to right. Rev. PROVIDEN-TIAE AVGG / S - F / SARL (sic!) Camp gate with no doors and two turrets; above, star. Cf. RIC 311 (for possible prototype). Minor smoothing and with some weakness , otherwise, very fine.

The style of this coin is clearly unofficial, indicating that it is a contemporary 'barbarous' imitation. The mint mark ARLS is engraved retrograde, a rare feature only seen in unofficial imitations.
